Project details
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across the region.
There is a growing demand in Oxford for young people who are experiencing the most acutely disturbed phase of a serious disorder and who need specialist help close to home. The Trust needed to urgently increase their facilities to accommodate this need. And with the help of NHS England/Improvement funding embarked upon the construction of a new Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in their grounds at the Warneford Hospital site.
Construction of the foundations had already started on site to meet a critical NHS service deadline and in parallel the design needed clinical sign off to allow completion of the FBC.
The Trust urgently needed an experienced Project Manager with the ability to engage quickly, align the team and drive the project through key RIBA project stages Concept design, Procurement of Contractor, construction delivery and NEC4 Contract Administration. In parallel they were providing valuable input into the OBC and FBC.
Senior member of our team Emma Page Identified key challenges and implemented strategic solutions whilst maintaining project delivery to programme, engaging with stakeholders and building collaborative relationships in difficult circumstances. Emma implemented clear governance to facilitate clinical sign off and changes that resulted however was ultimately able to deliver the project successfully.
The project was a huge success and is now fully operational provided much needed specialist 24/7 care to these vulnerable young people.
I was so delighted to be appointed and to play my part in the delivery of this challenging but hugely significant project that will make a difference to those young people.
